Min PSU for Gigabyte Radeon R9 280 Windforce 3OC?

It's written 600W,but my friend has same GPU and only 500W,so will it be OK to have 500W or 550W?

+1 for buying a good quality PSU because a good quality PSU rated at 500 watts would get a tentative yes from me, depending on what other components you are running in your rig (AMD or Intel, Overclocking, MATX or ATX, Case modding, Fan controllers, Dependent external storage or drives etc).

A poor quality/low rated 500 watt PSU would get a no.

Remember you will have little to no overhead and little to no room for future upgrades/overclocking to your rig without first upgrading your PSU if you opt for the minimum.

A good quality 550W supply is enough for an R9 280 in a typical system.
This is based on a 125W CPU and up to two hard drives.
The most important specification for the power supply is the combined +12V rating, which should be at least 44A or 528W.
