Im going to buy 2 x 970's today.

Zotac ZT-90101-10P x 2 = £518.33 delivered.

MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G x 2 £559.12 delivered.

Asus STRIX GTX970 DirectCU II OC x 2 £600 (Collect in my local store)

I hear MSI has the better headroom for overclocking and is very quiet but they are out of stock everywhere. The Zotax is £82 less than the Asus, but i can get the asus today.

Anyway i digress...

Which would you buy?

go with asus or gigabyte(i heard it is good,it has super overclock and windforce fan and they improve the boost mhz)
Gigabyte has 2 version of gtx 970-
1)GV-N970G1 GAMING-4GD(better)
2)GV-N970WF3OC-4GD

I bought a MSI and I have the loudest coil-whine I ever heard in my gaming life!

However I am having it replaced as mentioned in my thread and hopefully it was only a bad card, however reading the reviews it seems to be the best 970 out there!

MSI & ASUS are the way to go.
I've seen higher overclocks on the MSI, but the ASUS looks real nice a matches most build.
The MSI also has a slightly thinner than 2 slot design, which might help in SLI.

True, ASUS have always made quality cards. But the MSI sure is the winner in terms of performance for the 900 series, cheaper than ASUS too. The only things drawing me to the Strix is the backplate and metal shroud.

and there's a lot to said for quality, MSI is not known for good QC, and I myself don't like to decide based on the results of a single review...Cards that are written about for a review are generally handpicked by the manufacturers and often the very best ones they have culled from an assortment - not all that come off the line are generally going to be as good. Which is another thing I like w/ Asus cards, they don't tend to be released with high Pre OCs on them

I know this :)  there are a lot of reviews out now though. I love ASUS and was about to get the Strix, but decided on the MSI. Everyone who's got one so far has been able to get a boost clock of over 1500mhz. Very impressive indeeeed C:

The blackplate is a good addition...however we are not talking about AMD, temperature with Nvidia card are decent...

Pretty sure I'm gunna send my MSI back and get the ASUS Strix now. I just love Asus too much and the design of the card is so clean and nice. MSI looks too plasticy

Those prices are ridiculous, if you want a GTX 970 Strix from Asus, go here:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX...

Overclockers UK is one of the most trusted suppliers in the UK, they are almost the British version of 'Newegg'. I highly suggest getting them from here.

lol

That picture looks epic though, are you gonna get a 120hz, 1440p or 4k monitor for that setup (or do you have one already)? Or do you multi-monitor?
