Assassins creed black lag?!?!?

Hi guys I had delivery of my two gtx 980 sc 4gb cards yesterday and could instantly notice the difference from my sli gtx 680 signature cards they play watchdogs with ease on max settings where it was lagy with the 680's so I thought I'd have a game of assassins creed black flag trying it at max settings but was horrified to see it was laging when in therory it should play it fine it seem to be the only game bf4 runs perfectly at max bf3 perfect cod ghosts perfect is there something I'm missing? Thanks.

Intel core i7 3770k @ 4.3ghz
2 way sli Evga gtx 980 superclocked driver 344.16 latest driver
16gb ram

i dont own an Sli setup but mostly SLI setup do have Sli activation options in Graphic Driver panel.Check that no other gpu intensive process is running,lower the settings and see if the lag persists.Assassin's Creed Black Flag is not so much optimized pc port but with your card it should run on max settings.Uninstall and reinstall graphic drivers if steps mentioned do not work.If you get lag on Black Flag only than uninstall it and thn reinstall it and update it again.

Have you updated it to the latest version.It lagged a lot in the beginning after patches though its smooth.I play it on high settings supersmooth with my 7770 with FXAA on though it is digital diluxe edition.The normal edition i had before lagged like hell.If its updated than you should check if your sli setup is right.

I've done the uplay update before you start the game is there any more updates for it then other than uplays that is? When you mean check of my sli setup is right in what way? Sorry to sound thick!

Yeh it Dont lag on lower setting just on high by the look of it and it doesn't do it on any other game especially watchdogs which is even more graphically hungry game needing 3gb on high settings but nothing it runs nice it's just assassins creed black flag of black lag I call it as it seems its a common problem researching it on the net. I'll just uninstall it then redownload it as I've got high speed internet connection and will only take 10 mins to download even with season pass I could be just a sli thing I'll try disconnecting 1 card and try it. I'll try reinstalling drivers to ill keep you posted thanks for the help I really appreciate it.
