hey guys! any pc vets out there that can help a noob in distress out? my new gpu a zotac 970 arrived today and i've been trying to install it all day. problem is, whenever I start the pc it doesn't make it past the bios start-up splash screen. I'm not sure how it is related but the gateway logo is in the upper left corner of the screen opposed to its usual spot in the center of the screen. I also noticed the keyboard doesn't function while the new card is in meaning i can't actually bring up the bios. Whenever i insert my old radeon hd 7770 the computer is back to full functionality so i know it's a gpu issue. i've tried things like display driver uninstaller and made sure the two pci connectors were firmly on the card and i'm currently at a dead end. i've also tried just about anything relevant with the limited gateway bios. At this point i'm starting to fear that it is the crumby gateway OEM board but i'd like to see what somebody with a little bit more experience has to say before i scrap my motherboard. thank you guys so much in advance for any possible solutions!

not sure if it helps but my here's my specs

That's the revision of the board the boards name is Acer M3970, and wow thats one old board, I don't think your board is compatible with that GPU

ahhh yea thanks for the tip sir! powered off and pulled open the case to do a little exploring
think i might be onto something now - does acer ipisb-vr rev 1.01 sound more like a motherboard?

ahhh good to know at least so i can stop pulling my hair out trying to figure out what the issue is and get to buying a new mobo. really appreciate the answers guys!
one last question i'm probably not going to go for anything too pricey looking for something in the 75 - 125 range.
i'm just wondering if i upgrade the mobo does it have to be compatible with the old one in any way? it's pretty much one of the only things left in the case from the pre-built comp i got back in 2012 but i'm just wondering if i should be looking for another acer or something for the comparability. honestly i just don't want to somehow manage to royally screw this up
