Hi,

I am in a dilemma in making a purchase between these 2 models, which of these two models would fit my usage? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Asus

2 Lenovo Yoga pro 2

http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Yoga-Convertible-Ultrabook...

My criterias:

1. Used mainly for video streaming (from laptop to LCD TV), surfing, Microsoft office apps.
2. Ability to stand long hours of it being on with heating up especially the keyboard area.
3. 15 inch screen (preference)
4. Backlit keyboard (good to have)
5. Desktop replacement, no need to carry around. Weight not a problem but good to have.

Think I'd go the Asus, when mobile would prefer the larger screen

Depends on what you want, but imo the scaling on the yoga pro was terrible and it uses an mSata SSD. I had a yoga 2 13 with a 256gb PCIe/m.2 SSD and it was an excellent laptop once you uninstalled all the crap. Its 1080p IPS panel was rated better than the yoga 2 pro because of the color gamut, viewing angles, scaling etc. Overall its a really solid laptop

Thanks nick779 and Tradesmen!

1. I was wondering if the Yoga Pro 2 would be suitable for long hours of video streaming and hooked up to my LCD TV via a HDMI cable without overheating due to its thinness?

2. Yoga Pro 2 is using a mini HDMI port but if i were to connect it via a connector, would it degrade the quality of the video?

3. Can either of the laptops be upgraded to the maximum RAM or SSD/HD without breaking the warranty? I read from some specs that the Yoga Pro 2 has its ram soldered on to the motherboard. Is this the case?

I left my Yoga running a stress test for 6 hours and it never overheated, I cant really comment on the pro though.
A connector wont degrade the quality, the screen you view it on will.

I cant speak for the asus, but if I remember correctly the yoga has its RAM soldered on because of its thickness. The Msata SSD can be upgraded though
