Hello,
I did some research but came up empty handed...
I'm not planning to go for 4K yet as I'll be using a ROG Swift
I'm wondering, which would be the better buy overall?
My main reason is both gaming and digital art/ creating games with engines like UE4 and doing minor rendering (still a student)

If I was to spend that much for a titan black, would it be wiser to invest in a 2-way 980 sli or just get the titan black?
I mean I get that it has like 8gb of vram but is it worth it?
The high Vram vram would be good for digital art work and rendering I suppose...

So do you think the 4gb of vram on a 980sli would be enough to do rendering too (minor i'm just a newbee at this) and handle gaming or is titan black a better buy?

after you answer the above, what about a titan black sli vs a 980 sli? (2-way) vs (3-way)

thanks in advance :)

Titan Black has 6GB VRAM, and yes its overkill even for 4k, nothing really requires it, unless you're rendering a huge lot of scenes and textures, but if your work gets into 6GB VRAM area, you probably require a Quadro card. Which I assume won't be the situation here, 4GB VRAM is more than enough for rendering. Titan Black is also a gaming GPU with more VRAM, which sadly isn't of any use.

SLI 980 would kill Titan Black by leaps and bounds. Titan black SLI would still be less than 980 SLI in gaming. 3 way SLI of TB vs 980 would still be similar, but seriously, 3 way of Titan Blacks might require me to sell myself and still not have enough funds!
