So, I'm planning on bulding a new gaming PC at the end of this school year to replace this old hunk of junk.
I've researched all the parts, some of which are brand new, and some aren't out yet.
But I'm not sure if my parts are compatible. I've checked multiple sites and I found some answers, but I just want to make sure. The only reason I'm asking is because this motherboard is sort of new, and is kind of uncompatible with alot of parts.
This is my first "Gaming" PC. The one I'm using right now is almost 6 years old, and barely runs Skyrim on medium   , but it helped me spend hundreds of hours on games like Team Fortress 2 and DOTA 2.

So, here's the build:
Graphics Card: nVidia GeForce GTX 980
Processor: Intel Core i7 5820K
Motherboard: MSI X99S SLI PLUS ATX DDR4
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB
HDD: Western Digital RED 5400 RPM 3TB
SSD: Transcend 128GB
Power Supply: FSP Aurum 700W
Case: Thermal-Take Overseer RX-I Snow Edition
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
Optical Drive: LG 24x GH24NS95

This PC will cost me around $2000 (which I have collected through my part-time job), so yeah, I have to make sure everything fits perfectly :D

This system will run like clockwork. But I do have to ask.. why the 16GB? Do you do videos and/or editing?

Thanks for the answer :)

The reason behind the 16GB memory is that I went to the nearest PC Parts store and asked them about the parts. They said they only had 16GB or 32GB 288-pin Corsair Vengeance memory. So I chose the 16GB.
