Newly built computer crashing when gaming

CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K
MOBO: MSI Z97-G45
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing
GPU: MSI R9 270x 2gb
PSU: Corsair 500W ATX12V
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1333

(total system is 373 watts according to pcpartpicker)

I haven't done any overclocking to the cpu. I wanted to test to make sure everything ran smoothly under load, so I played battlefield 4 and league of legends. Both games resulted in a crash, however league of legends did not crash as quickly, while bf4 crashed almost instantly in game. I ran programs to check temperatures while under load, no temperatures reached over 45c.
My computer would crash without any error or warning message. The screen would simply be a lot of colors.

I have ran Prime95 and memtest86, neither returned with any errors. However, when i ran OCCT on the gpu and psu tests, both times my computer crashed.
Could the issue be that my psu is not powerful enough for my setup? Or could there be an issue with my gpu?

Any help is greatly appreciated! Also i have the latests drivers for my graphics card installed from amd

Sounds to me like a GPU issue.

Is it something can be fixed or would i have to return the card if possible?

Run some GPU benchmarks to be sure. If its a faulty GPU then you'll have to RMA it or if its recently bought from amazon or similar you can replace it easily.

Is the psu not strong enough in the first place or is the psu itself defective?

I would guess barely strong enough at best. Is it new?
