Just built the above spec computer. Most ridiculously priced components I've ever bought.

Got the graphics card (an asus r9 290x OC) a few weeks ago and in my old build (i3570k, ddr3 etc) the benchmarking for Unigine, both for Valley and heaven 4 get better scores than in the new build. Frame rates of 5-10 more overall in both on the old build.

I can't think of any reason why this should be happening. I'm at the stage where I'm considering boxing the cpu/ram and mobo back up and sending them back to the company...

I've been through every Bios setting, the GPU is running at 16x on pci-e 3. It makes no difference if it's on a pci-e 2 slot or if even it's running at 8x. Surely there's no way the processor could be having any effect? Overclocking it to 4.5 or having it on normal makes no difference to the benchmarking.

Can anybody please think of anything that I might be overlooking? The pc is brand new, brand new windows, brand new psu, latest gpu driver (the same one as in the old build. Aaggh!

Cheers, Tony.

Was the old 3570k clocked higher? In them benchmarks selected, higher single threaded performance would be more beneficial, so if your 3570k was clocked higher, then that would have caused the frame rate to be higher.
