a really not to understand realtek lan chipset problem

hi friends
recently i got a hit a realtek lan chipset problem,the problem first got noticed on the night of wednesday 24/09/14 ist when sudden lightening strikes sound heard from the sky however i immediately shutdown all running programs including lan being disconnected,then i was to shut down my pc.suddenly a small spark flashed from my lan port.the next day the upper led of lan got dim light and he lower led was blinking thus internet was available.then the next day the both led got brighter as normal and no sign of blink but internet available.the real problem got initiated now i got intermitten lan connection problem sometimes my device manager shows that lan adapter available sometimes not
any help will be appreciated.

I'd say it's time to install a discrete network card.

You must have had a surge on the ethernet connection from somewhere.
You should be able to install a network card without any issues.

vincentp for replying back however i could use internet and is able to use it on the same problematic chipset however i fear that here is no sign of blinking led at rj 45 or lan port .the both led light remains still ,what to do now?
any help will be appreciated

If it is still working I guess you can keep using it, but something has been fried.
If it doesn't work correctly, install a network card. Add in network cards are not expensive.

vincentp for replying back however i could use internet and is able to use it on the same problematic chipset however i fear that here is no sign of blinking led at rj 45 or lan port .the both led light remains still,how to make blink again!my internet is working fine.is there any static discharge from lightning strike on cable internet lan connection that has its effect on the rj45 port or the realtek on board chipset.if yes,then how to remove the accumulated charges on the chipset

When electrical components are damaged by a surge, there is no way to fix them.
Whatever functionality you have from your LAN port now is all you will ever get again.
If this is not suitable for use, install a network card.
