Hey everyone, I posted a question yesterday thinking I had an issue with my SSD causing the lag/freeze, but after doing some diagnostics, I've confirmed that my GPU drivers are causing my computer to lag after a few moments of booting up Windows, and then suddenly freezing, without blue screen.

Here's a link to my other post that has more information, I'll re-post my build below.

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2313617/windows-...

CoolerMaster Scout Advanced 2
Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0
AMD FX-8350 Black Edition
Hyper 212 Evo (Push/Pull - CM Sickleflow)
ATI Radeon 5970 CF (One Sapphire, one Diamond)
8GB G. Skill Ripjaws 1600mHz
850w EVGA Supernova B2
WD Caviar Black 1TB
256 GB Samsung 840 Pro

I downloaded the GPU drivers off of AMD's website, but what I don't understand is why my computer always wants to start lagging, then freeze altogether.

Some eliminations I've done:

- Used one stick of RAM in different slots, booted up, still froze (tested with both RAM sticks)

- Booting up and running off of one GPU in different PCIx16 slots, all ran, still froze

- Booted up with both cards, no CF bridge, once again, froze

Once I booted up this morning, I had just enough time to make it to the Device Manager and uninstall my drivers for my GPUs, and my computer has yet to lag/freeze whatsoever, and it's been running for about an hour currently. leading to my conclusion that it's an issue with those drivers.

I'm still new to all of this, as this is my first computer build with the help from a friend, but does anyone else have any opinions? It's really stressing me out.

UPDATE

I think I got it fixed. I uninstalled the Catalyst Control Center, all the drivers and software information, and then downloaded a previous software from the AMD website. I got risky and uninstalled CCC and the drivers after that, re-installed the most up to date software, and it's been working ever since. Hope this helps someone!
