Hey guys, looking to build a 2nd gaming rig (currently running an i7 920 rig that my wife will inherit, once the new purchase is done!).

Looking for a future proof build that can slice through any AAA titles (FPS/RTS or RPG, i play pretty much anything i can get my hands on) maxed out at 1440p and anything that comes up in the near future (Star Citizen, The Witcher 3, GTA V etc...) which is why i went for the larger psu as i'm going to be getting a 2nd GTX 970 around Xmas and would like some headroom for OCing the GPUs and CPU.

Looking for any tips/suggestions/criticisms regarding the build in case i missed something (spent a good deal reading up but it's easy to miss something once you start reading too many articles!)

So here we go! (canadian build btw, so hovering around 2500$ atm)

Side note: Obviously a big chunk of change is spent on that beast of a monitor but IMHO there's nothing that comes close to what the swift offers in terms of sheer gaming power out of box and warrantied to do so (GSYNC 144hz 1ms great colors for a TN & no PWM).

Not sure what case fans i should add as i'm not familiar with the Fractal (currently have an antech 1200 v2 case)

Solution
Made some changes to make it cheaper, but shouldn't have a hit on performance. If you don't mind the color, Noctua's fans are quite nice.

Here you go. Be sure to select best answer. Pick up three of these and your overclock to 4.7ghz but you'll be really pushing it. Great fans for really cheap and high CFM.

Motherboard - changed to a cheaper one that's also good.

Ram - Speeds don't really matter in gaming

Graphics Card - Changed to Asus's Strix version which is also good and cheaper

PSU - 850w is enough for sli, even 750 is but.. wanted some headroom

Your build is fine though.

Thanks guys, think i'm gonna do some switches as Tom suggested for the memory and the mobo, decided to stick with the gigabyte gpu as it has better reviews and i'm not too fond of the no-fan feature on the asus, just gonna set custom profiles for the fans on the windforce model. Now to see if the ROG swift decides to drop in price between now and Black Friday!
