Can connect to router no internet access

Alright, I recently got this computer from my buddy. Everything was working fine. Then one day i could connect to the Router but not to the internet. I tried doing a system restore back before everything happend. That didnt work. I tried Uninstalling the Reinstalling all of the network drivers. Even if i use a ethernet cable and just try to connect to the router that way it dosnt work. My knowledge of computers isnt the greatest. Someone help me!

This is a used PC with an already installed OS?
I always suggest a clean install from known good media as the very first thing you should do.

No telling what the prev owner installed from, or what else is in there.
Let's eliminate the OS as being the possible issue.
