I bought 2 Asus PG278Q (they only have display port inputs) to replace my old Samsung models (which used 2 DVI connections), I thought I had 2 display ports on my Nvidia 780 but its 2 DVI, 1 HDMI and 1 Display port.

Now I love the display and running at 144hz at 2560x1440 is awesome but I am very used to having multiple displays. I bought a Display Port to HDMI cable which support the resolution and plugged in the second monitor to the HDMI slot. But I still cant get any display going off any of the other ports (i even tried the Occulus Rift in both HDMI and DVI converter but it doesnt pick up any video feeds).

So does anyone know a way to get my second monitor working off either the HDMI or DVI ports or do I need a new graphics card or should I send the second monitor back and try and use one of my old ones in combination with the new monitor?

(I cant easily buy a new graphics card as my system has a cpu / graphics card water cooling loop unless I buy an air cooled 780 with 2 display ports and start the system into SLI.)

I would send one back, why have two high-end gaming monitors? You can only run games at 1, 3 or 5 displays, not 2, so one would be stuck at desktop usage which is quite a big pile'o'money for a job that even a low-res old monitor could so almost as good. ;)
So would reuse one old monitor as side-display if i where you, you could even get another watercooled 780 so you could reach a FPS more up towards the 100+ of your 1440p 144hz screen, though i know G-sync is probably also doing quite a fine job.
