I currently have a 1680x1050 21.5 inch Samsung monitor that I use for my gaming rig (Yeah i know my monitor is kinda old...) and I was wondering if I should upgrade it NOW to a regular 1080p monitor or if i should WAIT till 1080p G-Sync monitor drop in price or if i should wait till 1440p monitors drop in price. My rig has an i7 3770k, 16GB of 1600mhz DDR3 and a GTX 760 2GB. Also please don't be like: ''Your 760 2GB is not powerful enough for 1440p gaming'' or stuff like that because when I'll buy a new monitor that is higher than 1080p, I'll get a new GPU at the same time.

More about : upgrade monitor

You don't need to. I have 4 gaming rigs.(I let my sons use them). The oldest has a gtx 660 and and old 1680x 1050 monitor. I also have a 23" 1080p and a 27" 1440p on my main rig. They are all great and moving from one to the other doesn't change the game much. If you have the cash and have upgrade fever(we all have it, hence the 4 rigs) then I would honestly wait for a G-sync monitor that could run at 120 to 144hz. I think that would be sweet and would even tempt me.
