Hi, I've just put a gigabyte windforce gtx 770 2gb in my rig and I'm sure it's not running as well as it should be.
I've got an i5 3570k overclocked to 4ghz, 8gb ram on a gigabyte z77-d3h mobo.
I'm paranoid about 2 things - I'm using a corsair cx500m psu and the card apparently should have a minimum of 600w.
also I'm using a bitfenix comrade case and although I have put 2 extra 120mm fans in the front of it to draw air in, the gpu does get hot (80c plus).
Do graphics cards clock themselves down If there isn't adequate power and/or ventilation?

First, 500W is enough for a 770 and overclocked 3570k..so amount of power isn't an issue.

Case. That case does not look good for cooling. Do the front 120mm fans have good flow? no way. I hope you have a rear exhaust. That case is not built for keeping temps down. In comparison, a Corsair 300R, which I have. I chose this for great airflow. Notice the front is not blocked. Air is coming in and there is the option for side fans.

GPUs might downclock but temps have to get real high..like 90C+. My suggestions add fans or get a new case.

What makes you think the card is not running as well as suspected? What do you expect? You have any benchmarks?
