Hi,

I had a nice MSI R9 280x Gaming 3G with that fancy double cooler up until now.. I got a Gigabyte GTX 780 with the single vent cooler yesterday and Im deciding if I should keep R9 280x or the new nvidia. to my disappointment, the cards isnt THAT much more powerful, it's a little hotter (about 5 celsius hotter under load and a little louder) and it usually gives only about 5-10 more fps in games (the only game where it gave significant boost over R9 was Wolfenstein New Order). Also the cards costs about 80-100$ more than the R9 here / or can be sold for that price.

which one should I keep?

Well the 780 is tantamount to a titan so I would keep it.

Ya as dovah said, the 780 chip is the basis for all the high end Nvidia cards except for the the GTX 9xx series. This includes the 780, 780 sc, 780ti, titan, titan black, and titan z. They're either OC'd or OC'd and have more VRAM and cuda cores than the 780. Generally, the 780 will run cooler than the 280X when set at the exact same output since AMD uses more wattage in order to produce the same results as Nvidia.
