I have had cursor issues with my wireless mouse since I bought it. Especially when I try to play videogames with it. I thought maybe it was a USB or processing issue, but I bought a whole new system and the issue persists. I am pretty sure I have the most up to date drivers as well, because Microsoft automatically installed new software for the mouse and updated the drivers. I also checked Device Manager and it says the driver is most up to date. I'm not sure if this mouse just sucks or what?

Could you explain your cursor issue a little clearer please? Have you played with all of your mouse speed settings etc.? Which version of the Sculpt mouse (Mobile, Comfort or Touch)?

The cursor lags. It willl stop responding for a second and then pop up again. Makes playing videogames or running any sort programs that require a mouse impossible.

I'm thinking the problem is interference related, there are more than a few articles (although most refer to Wi-Fi, it's the same culprit) about it. It seems to me that far too many things operate in the 2.4GHz band (including your mouse) and the more Wi-Fi items running, the worse interference can get. Here's a few articles, I've not had to do this (I went back to hard wired everything after my first Wi-Fi trauma) but many of the articles recommend the use of a spectrum analyzer to find the sources of EM interference that may be playing havoc with your signal

and a general article about the why of 2.4GHz

One easy thing to try (if you haven't already) would be to change the USB port the Wi-Fi dongle is plugged into, if in the front of the PC, change it to the back or if at the back, try it in the front

I'm not running any other Wi-Fi devices. There may be interference entering the house from other sources, but it seems unlikely since the mouse is only two feet away from the usb transiever. So I don't think it's that. I tried changing speed settings and stuff, but that didn't do it. And I have already tried it in different usb ports, so thats not it. Maybe I just got a crappy mouse...

You're probably right about it being an issue with the mouse since outside stuff shouldn't affect you (unless you live near a transformer station or something)
