H!
I have a strange issue and couldn't find any good solution yet.
Here is the story:
I've been using a laptop (VAIO vpceb1e1e) hdmi - AV receiver (Onkyo AVX-390) - Monitor setup for two years, still works perfectly.
Now I changed to a desktop setup with a Sapphire Radeon 7950.
There are two issues:
a, I regularly hear pops from the receiver when there is no sound output. I see on the receiver that the HDMI logo is flashing, like if it was looking for signal. When I turn on playing music, even setting the volume to 0 in the player, pops don't happen. It seems like the video card would turn off the audio stream and the receiver does not like this.
b, I saw black screens for very short times (one frame I assume) through the hdmi. Like there was a problem with the video stream.
Now I tried an other hdmi cable, problem "a" definitely persists, but I haven't had time to see about problem 2.
Has anyone experienced something like this? Is there a way to keep the audio on, or not letting the card go to standby (if this causes the problem)?
Thanks!
