Reboot and Select proper Boot device

This error "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key" came up when pc started, i seen on the bios screen it didnt detect hard disk,but it was detected after i took out the cabinate fan attached with the power supply which is connected to hdd power wire. I dont know what/why it was caused . But needed to know if that thing damaged or corrupted my hdd. Has there been any cases like that? Pc is working now but need to know if it has any faulty thing or something.

Did the changing of wire,was getting same reboot error this morning when started pc . Had to restart like 4 times to get my hdd detected.

Well it's running ok now ,i shut down the pc for 10 mins and started again and it worked fine ,thanks bro. But needed to ask does low power supply to hard can cause it?I have a psu which gives 264 watts of usable power(I know its bad ) , i have a i54670 with H81ms1 motherboard,6 gb ram,nvidia geforce 510 and 500 gb hdd.

Well the reboot and use proper device came up again in morning ,but after one shutdown and restart it was ok,i still cannot understand the problem.Thought it has gotten fixed.FYI this problem started coming right after i moved my components from old case to new one.
