There are several different models of the HP super multi drive. Please post the model number (Device Manager should show it).

I haven't purchased this yet. It is the pavilion 17 f027 cy model but only lists super multi DVD bburnerurn er
Are you sure this is the right model? cant find anything like a "pavilion 17 f027 cy". but i guess if it says "multi dvd burner" then it is only a dvd burner
if you need a blu ray reader then you could still get an external one. they are not that expensive.

You won't know what exact model burner it is until you get the PC up and running and check Device Manager. That's when you should be asking us, not now. If it doesn't read BD, it's dead easy to replace it with one that does. I wouldn't buy an external one when you can easily replace the internal one, that's just silly.
