I have a compac CQ 60 I had a issue where the screen saod there was a hard drive failure going to happen I tried to back it up but it crashed.I got another drive and the recovery disks from hp. The computer boots to the F1 option screen.I have even adjusted the BIOS to boot the the CD with the recovery disk in it.What are my options

install the os on the new hard drive then and only then hook up the old drive as a second drive and then try to copy only the files you need over like the my documents or anything like that.
