Hello everyone, I have a bit of a problem here.

It all started when I made a little mistake in registry editing, my registry became corrupt and my PC would not boot.

I fixed this by booting in repair mode and using CMD prompt to navigate to System32\config\RegBack and replace the registry file "SOFTWARE" with the one in System32\config.

This worked, I could boot again, saved the day.

Now here's the really stupid part, I made the same mistake again, went back, applied the same fix, but along the way I accidentally overwrote the "SYSTEM" file in System32\config with the windows default "System File".

Somehow the backup version of the file has also been overwritten, so I literally have no way of aquiring the proper "SYSTEM" file.

Windows crashes when it's done loading, when you would usually see the cursor pop up for the first time.

I am fairly certain there are no means of recovery left for me to try, at least not the regular Microsoft solutions.

However I am a music producer, and I use this computer for work every single day. I can't afford having to reinstall every little thing.

I really hope someone has a suggestion.

P.S. I figured out you can repair Windows by running the install disk and selecting upgrade, however it then tells you you have to do this from within your running Windows 7 version, and not directly from the DVD.

I can't boot my Windows so this is out of the question.

Please help, i'm desperate <3

Yeah F8 works but sadly it won't boot into anything other than Startup Repair, from which I am trying sfc as we speak. :)

`CMD says there is a pending reboot because of startup repair but when I reboot, and go to startup repair, it says the exact same thing. :(

As in, when I try a sfc scan

Maybe if I use a install disk I can circumvent the automatic startup repair scan and the CMD won't stop me.
