Before you say i'm stupid and should call the internet company, listen to this. I pay for 25 mbps. When I do a speedtest on my laptop, i get 20-25 mbps, thats what i expect, but when I speedtest on my other computer, i rarely get more than 3 mbps! Please help i can't skype my friends or play any video game for that matter.

Are both devices connected to the router/modem via Ethernet cable? If so:

1) Do both computers have 1000 Mb/s Ethernet connections?
2) Are the ports on the modem or router, each system is connected to, a 1000Mb/s port?
3) Have you tried re-installing the latest network driver on your desktop (even though you KNOW you're already running the latest driver)?

I am betting that these results are wireless. Are the laptop and desktop sitting at the same location when you run speedtest? What network card is in the desktop?

Both the laptop and the desktop were in the exact same location. None of them were connected with an ethernet cable.

What are the two wireless devices (model numbers of the card/chipset) and what wireless router do you have?
