Network resource access from subnet

I need to access shared network resources (shared folders and printers) from my schools network, which I have set up my own lan for various reasons (privacy, speed and non-isolated wireless networking for my chromecast). How would I do this?

more details:
all the resources are available using network links such as "\\example-printer-server" and "\\example-network-drive".
My network treats this network as a wan so as to not rely on the outward facing network for DHCP.
The university network gives every wired subscriber their own IPv4 address (140.180.x.x).
Thanks!
