Computer keeps restarting after a second, no POST

Hello everyone. Today i was just browsing Facebook when suddenly my screen froze and I noticed my leds on my keyboard were turned off. So I tried restarting my system but it wouldnt POST.. the leds and fans turn on for a second and then the system shuts down again and this will loop untill I switch the power off.

Ive tried almost everything such as removing the cmos battery, removing graphics card, HDD, 1 each RAM in every slot..

I dont want to have to remove the mobo and breadbox it since I just finished the cable management about a month ago when i upgrades my mobo, graphics card and case.

My hardware:
Mobo - Asus P8P67 PRO
CPU - intel i7 2600k overclocked at 4Ghz with stock cooler for now
Memory - 2x4GB 1333mhz ddr3
Graphics - Asus Radeon R9 290 4GB DDR5
PSU - Corsair CX750
HDD - 1TB not sure which brand
and 3 extra case fans

This is the only pc I own and I cant test the components on another mobo or psu because I dont own any extra's unfortunately.
This is also my computer on which I do my work as a graphic designer and I need it working asap.

If there's nothing i can do anymore, can someone maybe help me find out who i can call to get help? Maybe asus or microsoft of the company where i bought most of the hardware? I'm desperate since ive been trying to fix this the whole weekend!

also heres a video of what happens if that helps: http://youtu.be/rU0IIcpOvXY

it sounds like something burned up. turning on and off real quick like that indicates a hardware failure. go in and make sure all cards and connectors are installed correctly, then u you really need breadboard it to be sure but the way your talking your down to the cpu, power supply or motherboard has failed and considering its more likely the motherboard or powersupply

the way to come down to these items is to remove everything but the cpu(leave heat sink on too), motherboard and powersupply. remove all memory cards harddrvies and everything else. if it doesn't stay power on then one of your three major devices has failed

and yes I understand the motherboard wouldn't complete post with no memory and stuff installed but if it stays powered on longer in this config then we can troubleshoot more but if it powers off with only them three components then one of them for sure has failed

Okay so assuming its either the mobo cpu or psu, how does something like this suddenly happen? i was just browsing the web, not gamimg or anything else cpu intensive. my temps were all normal like always, so how would it suddenly be burnt?

check the power supply by unplugging it from everything. then get the 20pin connector that plugs it into the motherboard. find the green wire on it(should only be one). take a paperclip or anything else that is a metal wire and carefully connect the green wire to any black wire on that connector. if it stays on without shutting off then the power supply is good. if it doesn't stay on its bad. and you will need to RMA it or get a new one

Okay now im reallyyy confused. I got my pc running now but i dont have any signal on my monitor. i got it to run by having the power turned on, pressing the power button on my case and then when i remove the cmos jumper cap from the first 2 pins it just turns itself on. then when i switch it off and try to power it on again with the jumper still removed it wont work. anyone know whats going on?

It sounds to me like your power supply is faulty, and for some reason is unable to provide a sufficient amount of power to all the components in your PC. Try and get your hands on a spare one and ghetto rig it to your components to test it without removing your motherboard or ruining your cabling job.

well the way i get it to run now is:

1: reseat cmos battery with power off
2: turn power on
3: put jumper cap on first 2 pins
4: put the jumper cap on second 2 pins
5: press power button on pc case
6: remove jumper cap from second 2 pins

my pc starts but i dont get a boot or any beeps. my red cpu led is burning now too.

did my cpu burn up? what should i do next? also thanks to everyone for the tips so far.

ive made a little progress in figuring out how to actually get the pc to run so its something

this still sucks really bad since i dont have the time and money to buy a new psu and test the mobo and cpu. and if it isnt the psu then ill have to buy a new cpu which i also cant afford. god im so frustrated right now

Update: my pc now turns on by putting the jumper on the second 2 pins (cmos battery in its place, switching the psu power on, pressing the power button on my case and then removing the jumper cap. this 100% works. when i try to turn it on with the jumper on the first 2 pins it wont turn on and does that infinite loop. im pretty had with electronics and power so i dont get why it only powers on this way..

also, when i have it powered on the red CPU_LED is burning. my 2600k is only 1,5 years old and i have never overclocked it alot so im skeptical about it being broken all of the sudden. i just dont know what to do right now

Okay so i figured out that turning my pc on by pulling the cmos jumper off was a stupid thing to do. I think i either fries my cpu bu doing this or just f*cked up my motherboard. the cpu led is burning on my mobo so that indicates something wrong. If its just the mobo thats f*cked up, is there anything i can do to undo this? the psu is turned off, and im letting the cmos battery out for the night while the cmos jumper is back on the first 2 pins. would this fix the mobo?

or am i just completely f*cked and need to buy a new cpu and mobo? im almost in tears typing that

As has already been stated, your best bet is to try and source a second power supply to test your system with. Ask a friend, family member or shop if you can borrow one or bring your PC in to test. Why are you ignoring the obvious, even after it has been pointed out and insisting on both continuing to mess about with CMOS and ignoring the fact that it is most likely the PSU at fault?

I agree, i shouldnt have been so impatient. anyways i tried the paperclip test and my psu fan turns on but a case fan that i conmected to it didnt. does this mean the psu is bad and i have to get a new one? thanks for te help so far guys!

As with anything related to power fluctuations and the like, it is always best to start with the power source, in this case the PSU. Once you have clearly confirmed or dismissed that component you can begin to move on to the others. The next in line would be the motherboard, then the ram and then the CPU itself.

Get yourself a spare PSU from somewhere, as long as it is powerful enough to fire up the PC in to bios then that will be enough. If that works, then add the other components back in one at a time. If the problem vanishes then you know for certain that it was the PSU. If the problem persists then strip the system back to just the motherboard, CPU and one stick of ram and try again. If none of that works then it is either the CPU or the motherboard, at which point it can get a bit trickier trying to resolve things.

But let's start at the start. Get another PSU and test your system out with that, and once you've done that, come back here and let us know the results. Good luck.
