New Rig boot on one memory but not another

Hi, I just got my new rig build up today. I have already read that trouble shooting list on "WONT BOOT".

I have bought G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) memory. Also I got a MSI Z97-g55 sli motherborad. I can boot up this new rig with one stick in slot 2, but not another.
When I put the bad one in slot 2, sometimes it just keep rebooting. And sometimes it just doesn't boot.
When I put the good one in slot 2, it always boot.
When I put the two together, it won't boot anyway.

I know it'd probably be stupid, but is there any master/slave ram in a pair sold rams? Just being paranoid. Also I have just bought this new rams and doesn't want to return it if not necessary.

P.S.I went into the bios, and I turn on the XMP setting.

Solution
Will the good stick boot fine in slot 1? Try the good one in slot 2 then install the second one in slot 4, ensure you use enough pressure so the stick is fully inserted (the clips come up and lock themselves on)....sounding like a bad stick, but have seen bad DRAM slots on 4 MSI Z97s now

Thanks for replying dude.
My motherboard manual says that, always use slot 2 and 4 first. And the good stick won't boot in slot 3 and 4. I haven't tried slot 1, because I have a large CFU fan there.
If I insert the good one in slot 2, and bad one in slot 4, it wont boot. I have fully inserted the ram, since I saw the clips lock completetly.

My guess is that my mother board only boot with single ram that is inserted in slot 2 and not others. And I got a bad stick.
Or I have a bad slot 4 and a bad stick.
Any suggestion?

Do you know of anyone you could borrow a couple sticks from to try with? Another possible (since you mentioned the cooler), is that oft times people attach the cooler too tight in either a corner or side of the cooler, this can effect the memory channels and cause this type of problem, try loosening the cooler then snug it back down, not overly tight, just nice and snug and then try the DRAM again

Not that I know of. But I'll check the cooler tomorrow. It's just the fan that's blocking slot 1, I can have it mounted on the other side and see what happen.

It's not the fan, the cooler itself sits on the CPU, if too tight it can affect the CPU by taking it out of level in the socket, which means the pins may not make full contact, just loosen the cooler then snug it back, many people overtighten them
