For this build I purchased HyperX Fury 16GB (2x 8gb) and a Asus Maximus VII Hero

When I put the memory in the recommended configurations the computer turns on the off and does not post.
So config A2 and B2 wont work
I also tried using 1 stick it would work but only if I put it in B1, which is not the recommended config which is A2. When I put the memory in A2 it'll turn on and not post.
Can anyone tell me the problem here? Both sticks worked separately, but not together.

Try with the DRAM voltage about + 0.05 higher than spec, the Fury sticks aren't like most all DRAM, these operate with PnP vs the XMP that 99.9% of all DRAM uses, might need an extra little push to kick start them, also check that you have the latest BIOS

I tried this, changing the frequency, and latency still nothing.
I was reading more on Fury site under features it said compatibale up to Z87 my MB is a Z97 would that be the problem?

Should be fine w/ Z97, but the BIOS may not be tuned for these sticks, that's why I suggested the latest BIOS, otherwise the little extra of DRAM voltage should work, haven't tried these sticks yet

I did the voltage part and that didn't work. So would updating it make a difference?
I am skeptical about updating from horror stories i've read
The bios is only 2 months.

I'm thinking i'll just get a refund on the memory sticks and get the G.SKILL Trident X

That's a good option, the Tridents are my favorites, let us know how they do
