Hello ! I've been planning a new build for quite some time now, read and asked here and there and i think i finaly made my mind on what i want/need. I just wanted to make sure there are nothing obviously wrong with this build before i unleash the credit card. (It will be a gaming PC and i usualy keep my PC running about 12-16 hours a day for 4-5 years, so durability is a must.) Budget is pushed to a maximum..

List of parts: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/Nzbbyc

Thanks !

The XFx is actually better quality. The EVGA 650G didn't get great reviews and HardOCP only sated it was "Good enough" The XFX is better. The EVGA PSus that are good are the P2 and G2 units. But those are all $120+

Gold/Bronze/ Silver ratings have nothing to do with component quality. Just efficiency.

also, ASRock Fatal1ty H97 Performance ATX LGA1150 Motherboard has an onboard USB 3.0 header, but the BitFenix Merc Alpha (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case does not have front panel USB 3.0 ports.
The BitFenix Merc Alpha (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case supports video cards up to 320mm long, but video cards over 270mm may block drive bays. Since the Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX Video Card is 280mm long, some drive bays may not be usable.

I was wondering about the PSU. They are really the same quality ? I'm a little lost in all this gold and bronze thing, capacitor aging, etc, i assumed gold was more durable/reliable than bronze, maybe i'm wrong.

About storage, i will use my 5 years old caviar black until i can buy a samsung 840 evo (should be in about 5-6 months)

About the usb, the 2 usb 3.0 that are in the back is enough, well, i think. Should i want more than 2 usb 3.0 in total ?

About the case, i suppose it's ok, i assumed i just had to put the drives in the lower bay. (will never ever use more than 2 drives)

Oh, thanks for the info about the PSU. Cheaper and better, can't pass on that ! :)

And the case (merc alpha), beside the front usb 3.0 unavaliability and the fact that i can forget about 2 drive bays, are there any other bad points ?
