Buzz Under Load

Just this morning my Corsair CX750 started making a sort of buzzing sound. I tried reorienting the PSU to test the fan and it's bearing to no avail. The thing starts to buzz as soon as I launch a slightly intensive game (I've been testing it with BF3 and Warframe), and will stop buzzing the instant I shut down the game. The fan is clear and the PSU is clean.

Any ideas? Am I in danger of frying the PSU and/or other components?

Help if you can.

Well depends on the buzz sound it's making. Coil whine is normal for multitudes of PSUs, from the highest quality to the lowest. Some companies will actually RMA the PSU if the coil whine bothers you.

On the other hand, the Corsair CX series have a reputation for being problematic due to lower that preferable build quality, so in a worst case scenario (though unlikely) yes something within your PSU can fail and damage your other components. Maybe try googling some coil whine youtube videos and see if the "buzz" is coil whine, or maybe if it's something more serious.

You might also consider contacting Corsair. They have a great warranty policy.

Whatever you do, don't open your PSU up... You run the risk of electrocuting yourself, literally.

I have researched coil whine and what I hear sounds nothing like it. The sound is much lower in pitch and frequency. Any other ideas?
