CPU power consumption question

Hi,

I'd like some guesses, or estimation on my CPU wattage. eXtreme PSU calculator estimates my CPU wattage to be 233w. Now that cant be true??..

AMD FX-8320: 4.7GHz, 1.50Vcore
ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0: CPU/NB voltage = 1.25v
R9 270x
Cooler Master G650M 650watt 80+bronze cert.

Hm...I don't know to be honest but AMD CPUs in general suck a lot of power even on idle. If the power consumption bothers you in the long term you could consider going Intel ;)

Hey,

the pic below shows stock power consumption under load. I could imagine it easily reaching the quoted 233W when overclocked to 4.7 GHz.

Holy shit, thats alot... Though, im still a little relifed, cuz I thought stock watt draw on FX 8320 was max 125watts, lol.. But if I have minimum processor state at 100%, does that mean it will eat ~230watts all the time??

How much can like C6E, CnQ etc decrease the wattage draw?
