Thank you kind posters for any help in advance!

Approximate Purchase Date: As soon as i am certain i'm getting what i need i'm going to purchase the parts.

Budget Range: $900-1000

System Purpose: PC gaming. I play many different genres but i'm mostly concerned about being able to play next gen MMO's.

Are you buying a monitor: Yes

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg, but if somewhere else has a good enough deal i'd be willing to buy there.

Parts Preferences: I'd like to go AMD this time around for the processor, not really worried about the brand of the GPU as long as it is cost efficient/capable of producing good results.

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: I'd really like a roomy well ventilated case at a reasonable price, I want plenty of room for my cables and all components without having to cram anything in or jury rig anything. I very much want a modular power supply, so much so that i am willing to pay more for it then a comparable non modular psu.

Why Are You Upgrading: I'm building 2 computers, 1 for my wife and the other for myself (I recently got married woo!). I'm mainly interested in being able to play new gen MMO's as we both really enjoy playing WoW together and every time we try anything new that comes out we get horrid performance from our current ancient computers. We are even seeing fps drops in WoW without even being on the highest settings and with an expansion coming soon we fear our fps will drop even lower with updated visuals. We are also interested in games like Skyrim and the new Lara Croft games and would like to be able to play those with reasonably very high settings with a constant 60fps.

Here are the parts i have in mind so far, please feel free to recommend a swap for another part or even a completely new build.

Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0
GPU:MSI R9 280 3G
PSU: CORSAIR CXM series CX500M 500W
CPU: AMD FX-6300 Vishera 6-Core 3.5GHz
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)
HDD: Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB
Case: NZXT Source 210 ATX Mid Tower

Again, thank you to anyone that comments, I really appreciate the help!

I heard the stock cooler is super loud, so I went with a good budget cpu cooler. The GPU will last longer without needing an upgrade. Case is roomy and great for the price.

If you're not going to overclock, Intel will be your best bet. BUT, try to overclock the 970 because it'll still have headroom.
