It does not worth it except you want to use 3 GPUs. They are almost same, comparison: http://asrock.com/mb/compare.asp?SelectedModel=Z97+Extr...

And an important detail you need consider too, the i5 4690K is the Haswell Refresh so that some z97 boards need a BIOS update, and you need a spare processor (non-Haswell Refresh) to do the update. Like either Asrock Z97 Extreme3 or 4, they need the 1.30 version BIOS (6/3/2014) for the i5 4690K http://asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z97%20Extreme3/?cat=Download... And nobody knows the MB has the BIOS up to date or not until you got the MB. But you also can google it to see someone posts the detail nor not.

So you are better to get the MB that can use the i5 4690K right out of box or the asus MB, because they have the feature: USB BIOS flashback. As I know like Fatal1ty Z97M Killer you can use the i5 4690K out of box because it is the new model and it has the newer BIOS. http://www.asrock.com/mb/index.asp?s=1150

It maybe need the BIOS too, because i5 4690K need the BIOS version 1.2 (6/30/14, note: update RC code. RC=Reference Code ) , and the 1st BIOS 1.0 is released on 4/22/14. http://us.msi.com/support/mb/Z97G55_SLI.html#support_do...

Or you can buy the ASUS Z97 they can use the USB BIOS flashback without boot into the windows.
