Hi, this is my first post, but I've read the threads for quite a while. Thanks for all the insight you've provided over the years.

Anyway, My wife's laptop just died. After replacing the motherboard and still failing to get the machine to boot or post I decided that working on laptops isn't for me. So now it's time to strip it for parts. I already plan on using the Hard drive as a new external drive, but my question is have any of you heard of, or used these SO-DIMM to LO-DIMM Adapters?

At that price they would represent a cheap yet significant improvement to what is currently in our desktop. After searching here and elsewhere I couldn't find what I considered unbiased and reliable confirmation that they work as advertised. The concept seems simple enough to me, but I was hoping to find someone who has used them successfully (and doesn't work for the company that makes them).

My desktop currently runs DDR2 800 ram (came stock on the pc). I've since upgraded the MOBO and Video Card and it is able to support up to DDR3 1866 RAM. The RAM coming out of my wife's laptop is DDR 3 1600.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Theoretically it is possible. I do not know of anyone who is using it - mainly because laptop RAM is usually more expensive as compared with desktop RAM.
