pcie 2.1 card on pcie 1.0 slot?

unlikely pci-e1.0 had compatibility issues with 2.0. pci-e
1.1 was a slight modification the the original standard this upgrade made it compatible with 2.0 and 2.1
it should also in theory be able to handle pci-e 3.0(never tested it as i got rid of my last pci-1.1 board about 5 years ago).
so the answer is probably no im afraid.

does pcie revision 1.1 means that it is pcie 1.1 slot ?

r u sure about this conclusion, if yes then rate from a scale of 1 to 10 that pci e 2.1 will definitely work on pci e 1.0

The issue boils down to factors like:
1. ATI/AMD PCIe 2.1 Video Card,
2. Intel motherboards with G41 and previous Chipset (AMD motherboards should have no issues).
3. BIOS date previous to March 4, 2009 (date of 2.1 PCIe release).

Expected issue if:
1. If your Intel motherboard has the G41 Chipset or older
2. If the PCIe 2.1 Video Card is ATI/AMD
3. If the BIOS version is pre-March 4, 2009 (PCIe 2.1 release date)

No expected issue if:
1. Your Intel motherboard has a newer than G41 chipset
2. The Video Card is Nvidia PCIe 2.1
3. The BIOS date is after March 4, 2009
