I've tried my best to search for a solution, I've installed Realtek drivers, I've used different microphones and I've even reset my computer COMPLETELY. It will not stop autoadjusting volumes and it appears to be only doing this inside of skype! And YES i do have Automatically Adjust Volume turned OFF I also have "Allow programs to take exclusive" Whatever turned off in the advanced tab of my Recording devices. It just won't stop. Please help! Could it be my motherboard?

I've had this happen all the time. So as far as that goes, Skype will take control of your audio devices when you use it. You simply need to go to your microphone options in Skype audio options and uncheck "automatically adjust volume". I've undone it and my microphone stays constant, before it would also have random drops and whatnot.

Skype is insidious and evil. The only reason many of us use it is because the people who don't care do too.

Edit: Sorry. I failed to read your question properly :( . No idea.

Yeah...it's annoying. Do you think it could be the motherboard?

All I can think to try is buying ebay and get a $3 USB sound card, free shipping. That'll be one of the cheaper and more convenient ways to try and isolate the problem as being part of the mobo.
