intel i5 4690k @ 4.4 ghz
Asrock z97 extreme 6
16gb ddr3 ram 1333mhz
evga gtx 780
xfx 850 watt psu

hi I have just upgraded the cpu and motherboard is this a good system and will it last me 2 -3 years maybe ?

I can say yes, but I fail to see the reasoning for the 1333Mhz ram, bump up the speed to 1600Mhz or 1866Mhz with a CL of 9.

Instead of the GTX 780, go for a GTX 970, if less (which it should be) that would be a better option, and outperforms the GTX 780 in performance and power consumption (draws much less power).

The GTX 970 is only 10% slower then the GTX 980 but is only slightly over half the price, that is value.

It is just not a practical idea, 1600/1866Mhz is a far better alternative

What is the system meant for
If it's for gaming than get 8gb ram at 1600-1866mhz. Your i5 and graphics card is fine for 2 years.
I'm an amd expert so i don't know if the cpu is future proof

No-one can predict the future, let alone can anything be classified as future proof as nothing can be, even for a timespan of 2 years.
