Hey everybody , I am looking for a new monitor which would be of 24'' inch. And i need a suggestion whether i choose Asus vg248qe (TN) or Dell u2414h (IPS) . I mainly use it for gaming, and i have gigabyte gtx 970 g1 gaming. So which of them is better for gaming . If you have another 24'' inch monitor please let me know . Thanks

If you want great colors above all else, go with the Dell.
If you want better responsiveness and a higher refresh rate and you don't mind the colors being a little more washed out, go with the Asus.

I personally think think the Asus would be a better choice for gaming. For multimedia, photo editing, etc I'd go with the Dell.

Colors are better on IPS, but the Asus has an incredible response time and it's 144Hz. I'd say it's better for gaming.

I should confess I have one myself though, so I'm not exactly impartial. The Asus does have horrible presets, that's a minus I guess. If you get the Asus let me know, I can give you my settings to get you started.

Response times are a whole load of bullshit, it's clearly a gimmick, the human eye blinks are 20 ms, the human eye can not see past 9 ms

Well take counter strike for instance you will easily get 200 plus fps, 144hz monitor is only useful for frame rates in between 144 and 60 and the sweat spot is roughly around 75 to 80, so any frames plus that is a waste of money, but most games you wont get 144+ fps in so that where 144hz is good, but response time is a whole different matter, the human eye can't simply see it

Again, it's not about seeing it. It's about feeling it. With 1ms everything just feels that little bit more responsive. You won't see it if you're looking at it, but with a mouse in your hand you'll notice the difference. It's the same with high refresh rates, though 144Hz vs 60Hz is visible if you're looking really hard.

Is it worth spending $100 extra over? No, but if you can get it anyway it's nice.
