Worth buying graphics card now?

I recently fried my HD 5850 OC 1gb. It served well for over 3 years but after this period there were problems with artifacts and coolers working on 3,5 rpm all the time. I opened it up and there was a spark that fried a card while i reconnected coolers to it. Thats why Iam not confused to next radeon card, atleast not from gigabyte windforce edition.

So. Is it worth buying card now? Maybe there gonna be GTX 960 at the end of this year or new radeon series? ATM I was looking on MSI Gaming 270 card. Is this card is much more better than my old HD 5850(he had performance of HD 6870 and was 10% faster than regular GTX 460, I bought it new in price of r270)?

Iam not talking about x version, but regular 270. Its in price of 600zł which is around 190$. 200$ is my price cap atm and I live in Poland. Nvidia is planning on releasing 960 this year? What about amd?

There are rumors that the GTX 960 will be released mid october or November. But expect to be priced around 250$. the most valuable at the pricing of 200$ is amd at the moment. Don't know the prices in Poland but in Germany the cheapest model of the 270x is around 150€ up to 170€ and the non-x version starts at 130€.

Whats the performance difference betwean HD 5850 and r9 270 from msi? Is it worth spending same amount of money on it? If this card have like max 20% more performance than a card from 2009 and cost the same(as i bought it in the end of 2010) its quite lame.

Just look up some benchmarks with those gpus and try finding some with the same games. You should be able to do so ;)
You cpu would start limiting before the r9 270 does
