I just finished building my new computer and I am trying to use my old gtx 660 video card on it, but everytime I put it in and start up the computer nothing appears on my monitor. I have tried the hdmi and dvi ports on the graphics card and neither work.
Computer specs are:
ASUS Maximus Hero vii hero
intel i7 4790k processor
Crucial Crucial M500 240GB sdd
XFX PRO 850W Black Edition Single Rail Power Supply
rucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) Ballistix Tactical Series 240-Pin DIMM DDR3 PC3-12800
CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

I am not sure if I need to go into the bios or what. I took the card to a friends house and he installed it into his msi motherboard and it worked right away.

Boot your PC without the Graphics Card installed.

Set your desktop resolution to 800 x 600.

Reboot with Graphics Card installed.

Ensure your PCI-E x16 slot is set to Enabled or Auto in the BIOS.

I have tried the above and it did not work still. The graphics card fans are on and it has a green light. My motherboard and psu are both only a few days old, so I do not think they are the problem. I have tried all of the pci-e ports on my motherboard.
