Disc not initialized

My Transcend 1 TB external hard disk is not initializing.a'm not able to see this on my computer but in device manager i can find it.Although it is not visible on device storage.
I have tried it on many Laptops.Earlier to this it was working properly.

Hi Vivek. That's very unfortunate. Try the drive on another computer to see if the same thing happens. If it does I'm afraid that if you can't initialize the drive, you'll have to RMA if it's still under warranty.

Device Manager is probably detecting the USB-SATA bridge electronics rather than the drive behind the bridge.

Does the drive spin up? Does it attempt to spin up? Are there any sounds, however faint?
