im think of having a fresh install of windows 7 but im thinking of past nightmare of laptops like the dell latitude d600 i had to find every driver after installing o/s will i have to do that with the acer aspire or will automatically install all of the network and sound drivers

You should be ok, i've installed/reinstalled Win7 on a hp and dell, the hp being Vista and the dell Win7 and both didn't need network drivers. Win7 does a good job on its own so again you should be alright.

There are drivers for Win7 from Acer, none for networking so goes to show Acer are pretty confident Win7 can handle the rest.
