When I try to turn my computer on I get: "PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable" then under that is "PXE-M0F: Exiting Broadcom PXE ROM." I inserted the recovery disk 1-3 and got the same message every time. I need help, what do I do?

Solution
Your laptop is trying to boot via the network connection and this usually happens when the hard drive has failed.

However, if you want to try re-installing Windows from the recovery disk #1 you must bring up the Boot Device Menu, select "CD/DVD drive" with up/down arrow keys, then press <Enter>.

To bring up the Boot Device Menu, press F10 when you see the Gateway splash-screen at boot time: http://panam.gateway.com/s/Mobile/Gateway/M275/3501734faq69.shtml

If the recovery process says it can't continue or throws up an error, you'll need to install a new hard drive then run recovery.
