Can a Asus P8H77-M compatible with a GTX 970?

Going to buy a new gpu and i wanted to know if my motherboard can support a gtx 970

yes your mobo will run the gpu without any issue. however what are the rest of your specs(psu - cpu)?

Yes, there will be no problem at all motherboard compatibility wise. The specs as state above would also help to clarify the rest (Bottlenecking to if your power supply can handle it)

500w may be recommended for 970 as it a very efficient but still it requires 2x6pin pcie power cables. what is it exactly?

Depending on the GTX 970, some only require one 8 pin or 6+2 Pin power connector. Others require one 8 pin (or 6+2 pin) and one 6 pin

With the PSU please list make/model.

yes 145w tdp can be achieved by either 1x6+2pin or 2x6pin pcie cables. pre overclocked non reference 970 may require even more.!
