Depends on what you mean by "secure LAN/WAN". Do you mean a VPN?

It is not VPN. It is a secure network where PCs are connected through a secured leased line. This connection is out of bounds for internet connection.

You could have a second network interface, but I assume that there is a very good reason those computers are isolated. Whoever owns those assets probably doesn't want the risk of exposing them to the internet, even with appropriate security precautions. The IT administrator and security administrator is who you need to talk to. This isn't a technical issue we can help you with, it is a policy issue local to that installation.

Sounds to me like "sneaker net" only.

Hi,
Thanks for your time in assessing my requirement.

Your assessment is absolutely accurate. It is a security policy that the WAN is protected that way. I belong to the admin group of one of the LANs of the network. An application running on a machine on the n/w is provided by an offsite vendor who's remote location is very far from ours. He needs to connect to the machine through internet to trouble shoot the application which works on the LAN. Hence the need for co-existence of both the connections.

Hope my communication is clear.

regards,

What I might recommend would be an IP to KVM or IP to serial connection. Something like this for KVM or this for serial port access. I believe Emerson/Avocent has KVM over IP solutions also. We use Cyclades ACS servers for all our out of band management at work.
