I am looking at buying a GTX 780 or 780ti since there is a nice sale on them right now but I would like to know more about DX 12 I read about it a while ago but honestly don't really remember much other then it was from what they said going to help things work a lot better other then that I only "think" I remember a few things

What I think I remember was that all DX 11 cards would work with DX12

2nd thing was that windows 7/8/9 were all going to get the upgrade to DX 12

other then that all I remember about it was it would be a fairly large preformace improvement

while I want this GTX 780 while its on sale getting it just for DX 12 which is likely to be used a lot more in never future games is not a good idea

More about : question dx12

it better be a good sale - GTX 970 would be a better choice.

DirectX 12 support is going all the way back to the Fermi (GTX500 series) cards, I dont think the 780Ti will be missing out on a new DirectX until 14/15.

I will have to go look again but I think it was around 330-350 for a GTX 780 and around 440 for a GTX 780ti

so around the same price for the 780 as the new 970 will be but NOW instead of a few months from now
