I have Q6600 2,4Ghz - TT Big typhoon and GTX 260, 6gb ram. I can run all new games at reasonable settings but newer games dont support dx 10 anymore so I want to upgrade to gtx 960 in October. I dont want to go with dx 11 card because dx 12 is newer tech. I know there will be bottleneck but i cant upgrade mobo and cpu right now. I want to know will I see performance boost and how much from my gtx 260.I know q6600 is old but I hope so that gtx 960 will help in gpu intensive games. My game resolution is 1650x1050. Please reply

It will bottleneck in CPU intensive games.
I would suggest getting a new MoBo and CPU.

Even IvyBridge Pentium is faster for gaming than your old Q6600. Better ugrade that first, before spending money on a new GPU.

I think the GTX 960 has a pretty significant performance advantage over a GTX 260, your talking 5yrs of Moores Law (GTX 300 and 800 were skipped).

The CPU will without doubt be a bottleneck, but that wont stop a fairly hefty performance upgrade when its not.
