I have an LCD Tv that I am trying to connect to my computers HDMI out.

This has worked before but for some reason is not working now.

When I go into the Resolution control panel in Win7 it shows my LCD monitor and the TV and I can select the TV. But the options for the resolution and orientation for the tv is greyed out. The monitor is connected through the VGA on the computer. When I connect the TV to the HDMI I get no signal on the TV. The set has two HDMI channels and when selecting either I do not get a signal.

Anyone have any ideas about what I can try? I have tried reinstalling the driver for the video card, an ATI, but that has not helped. I have turned the TV off and on a couple times, tried rebooting the computer with the TV plugged in and not plugged in.

Thanks for reading!
Jim

Do you have the "extend desktop" checked?

Oh crap. No I didn't.

I tried that before and it didn't *seem* to work. So I made the change again while I was starting to write this response.

After about 30 seconds the tv kicked in and it displayed. Not sure why it took so long but it did finally kick in.

Guess it is true that patience is a virtue. :)

Thanks for the answer ronintexas!
