Hi:

I tried to update my motherboard drivers some time ago from the manufacturer website (ASRock Z77 Pro3) but I guess I did not do it right because my PC started malfunctioning (when you turn it off the fans and the lights are still on, when it goes to sleep sometimes becomes unresponsive and you cant wake it up, the power led on the case does not turn on).

I formatted my PC but the problems continues, and Windows tells me that I need a chipset driver named Intel Smart Connect which I cant download from the Intel page at which Windows sends me, and when I download it from the ASRock site and I try to install it (clicking the Setup icon after I unzip the download) a black window opens and closes really fast and nothing happens.

I also tried to restore the drivers by installing everything that is on the CD that came with my motherboard but it did not work (the installation never ends).

I also tried to restore the motherboard to factory values but doing that (pressing F2 when the computer starts up and clicking on Restore Default Values or something like that) does not solve the problem. It seems that doing that does not restore the drivers.

So how can I restore the drivers to those that came with the motherboard? Is there any other way I can solve this problem?

Thanks!

Thanks for responding! My PC has a power consumption of less than 350 watts under load, and you can game on it for hours without a single problem.

That is why I think the problem comes from the motherboard drivers that I tried to install.

How can I restore the motherboard drivers to those originally installed on the motherboard (under those drivers my PC was working fine)?
