Hello,
I know these are very old CPUs, but in my other thread I wrote that my motherboard + CPU both fried, so I found an old PC with Intel Pentium E2180, and also found in a box an Intel Pentium E5200. Now since both have the same socket - LGA775, I should just be able to switch them right?
So why when I put the E5200, the PC does turn on, but only spinning fans, and sometimes clicking sounds, but nothing else, not even the BIOS screen. And when I put back the E2180, it works OK.
What could be the problem? I mean, the E5200 demands less power, so it's not the PSU, right?
Thanks
